So you have an Orientation coming up.  What now?

Prepare.  We recommend that students bring the following to Orientation:

  • Printed parking instructions (simply print this page)

  • Official Transcripts if not already sent to Boise State Admissions Office

  • Documents you anticipate referencing for financial aid

  • Work schedule if that impacts your fall class availability

  • Other paperwork from the university you might need during your visit

  • Necessary toiletries to survive overnight on campus

  • Sleeping bag or additional blanket (pillows and sheets are provided in each room)

  • Alarm clock

We also recommend that parents and family members bring the following:

A few reminders:

  • Students will be staying overnight in Chaffee Hall.  However, parents and family members will need to find overnight accommodations on their own.  A list of area hotels can be found by clicking here.

  • Check-in for both family members and students will begin at 9:00am at Chafee Hall on the first day.

  • Parents and family members attending an Orientation are asked to RSVP so we can obtain accurate head counts for handouts, meals, et cetera.  The RSVP can be found by clicking here.

Arrive.  Boise State University is located between Broadway Avenue and Capital Boulevard, just a short distance from Interstate 84. The Broadway or Vista exits are the closest.

 

If taking a plane, transportation to the University is own your own.  If you are staying at a hotel, ask them if they offer a shuttle service to get you to your hotel or to campus.  You can also ride the bus.  Take the #1 Park Center bus and get off at the BSU Admin stop.  A map and schedule of times can be located here (PDF Format).

 

 

Park.  If driving to Boise State, be sure to park in Parking Structure 2 (located on the corner of Lincoln and University) and follow these parking instructions.

 

Instructions to park

 

 

  • Note the number of your parking space

  • Locate one of the electronic payment machines 

    • Note: parking machines can be found on every floor in the north stairwell in the parking structure

  • Press any button to start

  • Enter your 4 digit stall # (the space where you parked)  Write your stall number here for reference:_________

  • Select option 1 (Purchase ticket)

  • Select option 2 (Day rate)

    • Note:  it will say $10.00 - but you will use a coupon code

  • Enter # of days (1) 

    • Note: students families attending a BroncoVenture program who are parking overnight will need to enter 1 for the first day, and re-enter the parking code at the beginning of the second day.

  • Press OK

    • Note:  the machine will ask "Do you have a coupon?"

  • Select option 1 (Yes)

  • Enter coupon code 04261679

  • Remove your receipt and retain it during the duration of your Orientation

    • Note:  You may need this ticket later in the day if a problem arises.

No refunds will be given to participants that receive tickets or pay for parking on their own.

 

 

Check In.  Chafee Hall at 9:00am is where you'll want to be to check in to your room, meet your Orientation Leader and get started.
