BroncoVenture

Getting your college experience off to the right start is critical in ensuring a successful transition into our community. This is one of our most important goals at Boise State University, so we welcome you with BroncoVenture: our two-day, overnight orientation for all first-time, first-year traditional-aged students.  During these two days, you and your family will:

  • Experience a comprehensive introduction to what it means to be a new student here at Boise State, with a current student Orientation Leader guiding your way in a small group

  • Meet new people, learn about the campus, connect with faculty and staff

  • See our facilities, spend the night in our residence falls, and enjoy University dining

  • Receive resources to meet your individual needs, receive academic advising, sign up for classes, and

  • Have fun and make new friends!

Whether you are from out-of-state and wondering about your new home or from right down the street and wondering what spending the night on campus could possibly add to your knowledge of Boise State, we guarantee BroncoVenture will make you feel welcomed into your new community.  We can't wait to meet you!

BroncoVenture is college-specific, meaning you need to attend one of the programs designated for the college under which your major falls. In addition to the information enclosed, you can view your major’s orientation options on BroncoWeb when you sign up. If you have a serious scheduling conflict attending your assigned program, please call our office at 208.426.1679 so we can get you into a different program. Students who are undeclared may attend any of the programs.

What Do I Bring?

When you applied for admission, you most likely submitted an "in-progress" high school transcript.  It is important for you to submit a final high school transcript to Boise State University prior to the beginning of fall semester.  This transcript should indicate that you graduated from high school.  If it does not, Boise State will need a copy of your high school diploma.  Please bring these documents with you to your Orientation session.  You can disregard this request if either you or your high school have already provided this information. You will also need to bring any other documents you anticipate referencing for financial aid, a work schedule if that impacts your fall class availability, and any other paperwork from the university you might need during your visit.

Additionally, you will need the necessary toiletries to survive a night on campus. Pillows and sheets are provided in each room, but many students bring a sleeping bag or additional blanket. Students will have their own room in Chaffee Hall, along with bathroom/shower access, and full access to the student Orientation Leaders who will be staying in the halls with you, along with University Housing staff who will be on call for safety purposes, and simply because they want to meet everyone!
